Chicago Based Fine Artist Fidel Rodriguez

Fidel Rodriguez is a fine artist who transcends and morphs his current dimension, riddles his work with his own enlightening experiences. Feeling compelled to communicate clearly with his audience and entertaining conversations surrounding self discovery Fidel embeds an esoteric meaning in his creative process.

“Elements transform each other in a process that drives them through and into their environment, bonding their energies and giving them new qualities, bringing them into harmony and balanceThis transmutative effect is his starting point.

Fidel Rodriguez demonstrates through his artwork an understanding of everyday elements that find a way to integrate into our culture as we evolve as humans. The constant confrontation with challenges that individuals respond to, provide Fidel with an opportunity to embroider his works with a spiritual vision, leaving his audience compelled attached. Fidel is hyper-aware that humans pass energy through time and each other by interaction, affecting our psyche, behavior, and spirit and have done so for generations. Symbols, numbers, and letters evoke the beginning of the transformation of this spirit from childhood, since they are the first elements we recognize as we evolve observing their universal pattern.

The relationship of each element represented on the canvas ends up being what you see, his perfectly calculated misfit.

Backtracking form his current works today, his early career was inspired by “Tauromaquia,” alongside his bullfighting grandfather. His bedroom walls served him as his first canvas, and since then on he excelled in any arts education program that he was a part of. He studied Graphic Design at the age of 17, he went on to earn  a UNESCO scholarship to study Painting at the Armando Reveron University in Caracas. He was one of the youngest artists exhibiting at the 5th National Biennial of Drawing in Caracas, and at 18 he was represented by Ars Forum propelling him into the art scene.

Fidel went on to become a scenic artist for an Italian corporation in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. In 1996, New York City welcomed him as a set designer, up until Fidel was presented with his first serious gallery representation in the United States by Monique Goldstrom Gallery, in Soho nonetheless, where he got a glimpse of the art business.

Fidel Rodriguez has turned Artspace 8 Gallery into a maximized roster of artists that clearly share the understanding and the dynamics of the Art world
